In addition to his duties as husband (over twenty years) and father of two, and writing and
performing his own work, Mitch has also been active in the following areas:
Founder and President
FLAMING TONGUES, INC., a non-profit corporation expanding Albuquerque's field
of poetry since 1995 with readings, festivals, street projects, workshops, exchanges, and
resource services. Dissolved 2001.
ALBUQUERQUE POETRY FESTIVAL (1996-99), a four year run, featuring several
hundred poets from all over the country in more than fifty separate showcases, with
a combined attendance of more than six thousand.
