Just A Moment

Pranus Sink was a man who lived every day like it was his last
he died drunk in the rain
tried beating a train that was moving too fast

far away that same evening
somewhere a plane was leaving
his daughter hadn't seen him for years

when she arrived
her small surprise stepped into a runaway freight train

so many bound emotions
so many words unspoken
so many hopes now broken for good

       all he every lived for was that one wild moment
       she would've killed for one more moment
       between them forever     one lost moment

time keeps slipping away
and we're alone holding on to moments

the sigh of the love sick lover
the kiss of the soldier's mother
the outstretched hand we discover too late

       all we ever wanted     one more moment
       only always needed one more moment
       how come there's never time for just one more moment?

now I've been far away
and it seems that we've changed
though our choice is the same

feeling more than we say
for us in this life there still must remain

beyond the heartache
beyond the hard dawn breaking
something that's been there waiting to shine

the only world we know
